What We Do

EMBARC’s Crisis and Advocacy Services provide ongoing support services and crisis intervention methods to refugee and immigrant communities across Iowa. We assist survivors of crime and violence by giving them access to linguistically and culturally appropriate resources.

Our advocates undergo interpreter and new health worker training, which allows them to provide ethical medical interpretation. They also provide education and services while connecting clients to existing resources. This allows our organization to have a broader reach and a more significant impact on the communities we serve.

We can offer:

  • Direct services

  • Case management support

  • Focus groups

  • Support access to education classes
